M.O.P.S. Monitoring Object Position System

M.O.P.S. Monitoring Object Position System

We want to tackle the Markas challenge.

We think the problem of lost mops is mainly logistical and related to accountability. As we understand it, in Bolzano Hospital, Markas personnel lack a system to track their items, which leads to them being lost or thrown away too soon.

To address this issue, we want to implement a system that can store data from every scan of each individual mop.

In our presentation, we will use a widget to simulate a scanning app on our computer, allowing us to save a mop ID, a date, and a router ID. We believe that adding other data, such as scanner IDs, would provide Markas with more valuable information about the situation of the mops.

The aim, however, is not necessarily to retrieve lost mops but to pinpoint where the problem lies and who is involved.

We believe that awareness of this data could itself change certain dynamics, potentially reducing the problem.

Another point to address is the wear and tear of the cloths. By saving a usage counter for each mop, we can track which ones have exceeded a predetermined number of uses and flag them the next time they are prepared.
